National Seminar-Cum-Workshop on Tibetan Medicine - Dharamsala -
March 24-28 2008

The central council for Tibetan medicine (CCTM), Chethoemenpai-lhentsog, and the Mentseekhang of the Tibetan Government in exile, jointly organized a five-day National conference and workshop on Tibetan Medicine hold on March 24-28, at the Dharamsala Mentseekhang, India.

The conference, which went very successfully, gathered one hundred and sixty-eight participants. There were Tibetan physicians and medical students from Ladakh, Lahoul-Spiti, Nepal and Mongolia, from the Varanasi Tibetan higher studies, the Chakpori Medical Institute, a dozen of senior Mentseekhang doctors, several western participants, and also nine invited Indian professors on western and Ayurveda systems.
There were various speakers, among those several Mentseekhang’s senior doctors, Indian professors, doctors from the Delek Hospital, as well as Dr. Pasang Y. Arya. All made their contribution of experiences and guidance for the Tibetan medicine’s development and preservation, and its national and international recognition.
The first two days presentations, given in English, covered various subjects, from history to theory, and energy disorders to infections. The last three days were devoted to workshops mainly for the younger generations and the internship students. On the last day of the conference, the resource speakers received an  appreciation certificates from the health Minister of the exile Tibetan government, Mr. Joped Tsering, and vote of thanks from the organizers.
