A Gold Medal for H.H. the Dalai Lama
October 17, 2007, WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush gave the Dalai Lama one of the highest U.S. honors and called on China to open talks with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader whom Beijing reviles as a separatist.

The Dalai Lama, accepting the Congressional Gold Medal from Bush and leaders of Congress, told a packed audience in the U.S. Capitol that he had "no hidden agenda" in seeking greater autonomy but not independence for his Himalayan homeland.

National Seminar-Cum-Workshop on Tibetan Medicine - Dharamsala

the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine (CCTM) and Tibetan Medical and Astro. Institute (TMAI), Dharamsala will jointly organize a “National Seminar-Cum-Workshop on Tibetan Medicine” in Dharamasala - India from 24 to 28th March 2008.

The Organizing Committee will be inviting eminent scholars and experts of various medical systems that includes Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, conventional medicine and of course Tibetan Medicine. Organized by the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine (CCTM) and the Tibetan Medical and Astro. Institute (TMAI)

Dr. Pasang Yonten Arya, former principal of Mentseekhang Medical College of H.H. the Dalai Lama, Dharamsala, has lived in Europe for more than 15 years. Invited in 2004 by the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine (CCTM) of the Tibetan Government in exile of Dharamsala, he contributed to the Seminar-cum-workshop for postgraduate Tibetan doctors, given at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi, India. Dr Pasang Y. Arya is invited again by the CCTM to give lectures and workshop to Tibetan doctors at the National Seminar-Cum-Workshop on Tibetan Medicine 2008, Dharamsala. He has also been chosen to be the advisor and  high level committee member for drafting the Tibetan doctors various professional degrees and syllabus revision in end of March 2008.
